2nd November 2017
INTERVIEW: NINA RAINE. Award-winning playwright and director Nina Raine talks to Matt Trueman about her most recent play, Consent, a big hit for the National Theatre in spring 2017. A look at the private lives of London lawyers, it opens out into a dense enquiry about human relationships, the nature of consent and the possibility of judgement. Looking back at her writing process and her approach to playwriting, Raine goes on to discuss her previous plays, the family drama Tribes and her state-of-the-National-Health-Service play Tiger Country. Recorded at the National Theatre, London, 11th June 2017.
We’re political because we live in the world, but I’d never feel confident saying I was a political playwright.
