Director Polly Findlay explores the tragedy of Antigone

1st June 2012

The director talks to Matt Trueman about her new modern-dress production of Sophocles’s Antigone, which stars Christopher Eccleston and Jodie Whittaker and is currently on at The National Theatre. She also talks about her career and current opportunities for young directors. Recorded at the National, 2 May 2012.

It’s a timeless story so we wanted to avoid making it into an indictment of any particular regime because we felt that would be reductive.
