Urban Scrawl - a new sound for 2009
Thursday, January 1st, 2009As you stagger bleary-eyed to your computer terminals at the start of 2009, hungover from the end of year celebrations or afflicted by those January / recession blues, you should do your ears - and imagination - a favour and give up eight minutes of your time to listen to Chips Hardy’s delightfully fresh comedy about Ickenham.
It launches the Urban Scrawl project - months in the planning, hours of behind-the-scenes graft in the making - with an inspiriting irreverence. There are many fresh - and wholly free-to-access - dramas in store for the public in the weeks ahead - and their subject-matter is hugely varied. But Gene David Kirk, the project’s director, and I thought it would be best to kick off with something to make you chuckle. I hope this raises happiness-levels out there a bit - let us know what you think, either below this blog entry, or by joining the Urban Scrawl facebook group. And if you like what you hear - do let your friends know. The more visitors the merrier.
Thanks to all those who have made the Urban Scrawl project possible. More info via the Urban Scrawl tab in the menu (left) and on the theatrevoice home-page.
Happy New Year… and happy listening…
